Subjest: Adding to NERVs Beauty
Good day Sir I have been toying around with my comic and an Idea hit me to add to NERVs ever growing color. Now this is just an Idea and not ment to push anything on you. I have found that NERV has no real Ground Force or Air Force and I need one for my comic so I did this, now be warned this will aprear in my comic for color and nothing more. But Still I felt the need to show it off lol. any ways this may look like I put a lot of work into but it is all just for fun and nothing more.
NERV Fighter Core
The NERV Fighter Core is formed of the best of the best NERV has to offer with the sole purpose of protecting the citizens of NERV. The Fighter Core also known as the Core was built to defend the home worlds of the NERV Task force as well as to fight for the believes of its people. With the majority of the battles being fought be massive star ship the Core is still a irreplaceable part of the Task Force after all no matter what technology there may be on the battle field you still need brave men and women to fight and hold ground before any battle can truly be won, and that is why we have the Core.
The Core is split into two parts the Ground Division and the Space Division. Although there are both head by the same governing body known as the Core Command, they are two separate bodies. The Ground Division is the backbone of the Core their job is to take and hold ground for other forces of NERV to reinforce later. In a land war the Ground Division is the first on the scene and the last to leave. Made up of both Ground Pounders and Core Pilots the Ground Division maintains both ground and air superiority other their enemies to ensure victory. It is the job of the Ground Division to take worlds hold by our enemies but it is also there job to defend the homes of our citizens as well. The Ground Division has it own set of commanders that run deferent theaters with any give war this command only report to the Core Command and Lord Goury himself, as such they have complete power when trying to take and hold a hostile world or defend a friendly one. The Ground Division is the largest part of the Core due to their impotents in controlling space, as we know it.
As the Ground Division fights for land the Space Division battle for space. With the advent of star fighter warfare the Core expanded its reach to the stars. In the begging of space fairing large star ship was the most practical way to travel though space and rightly so. But with the fast pace of technology ships were able to be smaller and smaller, but as war goes fleet admirals were unwilling to give up there massive vessel for smaller one with a commonly seen stubbornness to stick to the old and trust worthy ways. It was not until faced by a foe that wisely uses a large escort of small star fighters to defend the larger ships and attack their foes as a swarm. After larger losses to this tactic the Admiralty come to under stand the need of such fighters and so formed the Space Division of the Core. The Space Division is made up of only Core Pilots seeing as a Ground Pounder in space makes little sense. It is the duty of the Space Division to defend there carrier star ships and star bases from attacks and to patrol the space around a world from a land base. The command system of the Space Division is some what different from that to the Ground Core as there is a division of there power the pilots assign to star ships or bases around under the direct command of that ships or star bases commanding officer and thus pilots assigned to land base duty are under the command of the Ground Division. This is due to the fact the admiralty of the NERV Fleet wanted complete control over the Pilots on their ships and bases and the fact that the land bases are under the command of the Ground Division. With this weak command system many minor arguments have acraed over new fighter designs and duty assignment but never any thing major.
As stated above there are two branches of the Core there are also to class specialties in the Core their The Ground Pounders and the Core Pilots. In the early days of the Core the Core Pilot was just a training school any good Ground Pounder could sign up for, but with the formation of the Space Division that was changed. Now all recruits go though a basic training program that’s come to by know as the Trial for it is use to both weed out these not fit to be in the Core and to judge each recruit to see would class would best suit the trainee, at the same time as get all recruit the basic knowledge need to survive on the battle field. After the trial each cadet is assigned a specialty and is sent to the proper training camp, this is the deferent’s are seen.
The Ground Pounders or GPs are the foot solders of the Core they are trained the use of all manors of weapons from handguns to heavy weapons. They are also trained in the use of all manor of body and power armors, this make then the most feared force on the battlefield. Along with this training in arms some train in that used of land vehicles like APC and tanks. The GPs are trained and drilled constantly to both times of war and times of peace to ensure their readiness. Few can handle this intense training and drilling but those that do are that greatest warriors in all of NERV. Most GPs are assign to ground duties planet side but some are assign on star ships and bases as a security force. There are many MOS (Military Occupational Specialties) in the Ground Pounder class like all armed force, but the most note able are The Grunt, Heavy Weapons Specialists, Tank Crew, Power Armor Specialists, Field Medic, Sniper, and Special Operations.
The Core Pilots or CPs are as there name sagest the Pilots of the Core, but contrary to common believe this is not limited to jet and space fighters. After The trial the lucky few go on to be CPs, with a longer training period then the counter part CPs are trained in the piloting skills need to pilot any of the advanced weapons employed by the Core this includes but is not limited to Jet Fighters, Star fighters, Land base Battle Mecha (LBM), Water base Battle Mecha (WBM), and Space based Battle Mecha (SBM). Within the first year of training each pilot must choose two class's of weapons they wish to specialize in for the rest of there training. Based on there piloting specialty the CPs are assigned to either the Ground Division or the Space Division, there has been known of bitter rivalry between the two Divisions CPs but the worst to come of it is a damage bar.
The ranking system of the Core is not much different from the rest of NERV with this exemption, in the Ground Division the ranks up to and including Captain are the same but after that it fallows the table below highest to lowest:
· 5 Star General (only in war time)
· 4 Star General
· 3 Star General or Lt General
· 2 Star General or Brigadier General
· 1 Star General
· Colonel
· Lt Colonel
This is due to the old costumes of ranking for ground base military units, and as said before commanders in the military like to stick to what they know and learned to love.
The Core Command or CC is the governing body over all of the Fighter Core and has been so since the formation of the Core itself. The CC is made up of six High Ranking Officers from both Divisions but few in the Space Division reach a rank high then captain, still there are a few Admirals in that Division. But due to this fact only two chairs in the CC are held by Space Division Officers. The CC control the activities of all the theaters of war the core is engaged in at any give time and report to the General Staff and to Lord Goury only. Though they most work hand and hand with the fleet command when need be and have sign off most of the power over the Space Division over to them they still maintain power over the Core and when and were there troops will be deployed. The CC Head Quarters Is based on Nuki Prime near the capital City and employees many of the local civilians.

Ok all this is well and good but I sure your asking what this has to do with On-Line Game and how practical is it. Well that’s easy to answer The NERV Fleet was formed in the Star Trek Dominion War game and later grow to Klingon Academy and Star Trek Armada games so naturedly there was a Fleet mentality to the over all set up to the Task Force. But with the number of games NERV is slowly growing into like Half Life and Tie Fighter Vs X-wing, and I hope to see other games Like Mech Warrior 4, War Craft, Star Craft, Command and Conquer, Star Wars Galactic Battle Grounds as well as more Fight Sims games but only time will tell. Any ways I thought a New branch of NERV could help give NERV the look of a Task Force and not just a Fleet as well as add color, you see I'm always looking to add color to every thing lol. But this is nothing more thing an idea one my part and I need something to (again) add color to my handle in NERV as I write my comic this was just one way of doing this, and well like so much of what I do I blows up into in my face and takes a life of it only. In the end this is what I though to add to NERV it is takes or not does not matter much but it well show in my comic as it is set in my universe and not entirely in the true On- Line universe of the Task force that is NERV.
Well you dont need to tell me I went over board but hey whats done is done right lol.
